To qualify for enrollment, nurses must hold a current license in good standing with their respective province or territory. To join the AFCN program, applicants must provide the following admission documents:

- An active and in good standing nursing license (RPN/NP or RN) in their province/territory.

- A personal learning device. - Proficiency in English.

Our program consists of two parts:

Foot Care Theory and Foot Care Clinical.

Module 1: The theoretical component, can be completed online at your own pace. With a generous timeframe of up to 6 months, this 100-hour course follows a comprehensive curriculum founded on the best practice guidelines and evidence-based techniques in advanced and diabetic nursing foot care. Students will engage in online testing and have access to pre-recorded presentations from the comfort of their computers.

Module 2:  Focuses on the clinical module of 3 days, providing valuable hands-on skills training. This module covers a range of topics including policies and procedures, infection prevention and control, patient foot health assessment and documentation, patient education and referrals, as well as various foot care skills such as podiatry instrument, callous and corn reduction, wart care, burr training, and fungal nail care. Extensive coverage of diabetic foot care practices is also included. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will possess the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue rewarding career opportunities in the field of foot care nursing.
